Discovering Water Soluble Graphite, and other things, in Chico CA

I could go on obsessing over symmetry forever, or I could leave well enough alone? I know it's getting close to time for me to break away from home. Unfamiliar things beckon me, and in my experience, the scariest things are also the most rewarding. Don't be afraid to let go. You can always call back the things that are meant for you.

I feel like this photo perfectly captures my soul, double meaning intended. One side of me just a bit lighter than the other, and I always call back my shadow side. This was my first piece using water soluble graphite which I learned about in Chico CA last month from a wavy haired, dreamboat of an artist that was live painting with it at a rave. I'm excited to bring this design back to Chico for the Lunar Market at Meriam Park and I am so grateful to have been invited to share a space with my beautiful friends Sarah and Fred at their super sexy photo bus Fernweh! I'll leave you with some poetry that I wrote the last time I spent some time in and around your city. I hope Chico loves me as much as I love it!

Paradise, CA

Time moves so differently in this city of ashes

I'm learning to let go in a tidal wave

of dragon scales and clowns at the rave

This meridian is a crucifix at the intersection of a soft slow frequency

of rose tea and gin

and so many offerings to Venus

So that she keeps things moving in a water-soluble way

Straight from my heart to the page, from my lips to speak truth, to find grace

Where my body becomes one with my soul

This meridian

is an intersection

of a soft slow frequency
